This is not a Leslieville question per se, but I know there are a lot of foodies in the hood.
Can anyone recommend any Toronto restos that cater to the bits of food not normally associated to a Toronto restaurant experience? You know, the things that many might turn their nose too.
I was thinking Beast Restaurant, but it does not seem too different. Perhaps something in Pacific Mall? I have a group of friends coming up and would like to surprise them with an experience they may not have had before. Bone marrow, horse carpaccio, pig ear, pig brain, fried kidneys, are some of the more common finds, but anything off the chart in Toronto? It would be great to find lots in one place.
Thanks

Cava - squab hearts, tripe, sweetbreads, beef cheek
Guu - menu changes often, but here I've found beef tongue, sea urchin, raw prawns, pork intestines
I had horse carpaccio at Via Allegro once, but I think the remainder is straight-up Italian.
You can find some pretty challenging offal at Chinese restaurants throughout the city.
Hope that helps!
