A few months ago I tried to see if anyone was interested in playing floor hockey with not much luck. However I am trying again as it is getting cold outside and I want to play floor hockey, and I want to do it in the hood. I am trying to get enough people for at least two teams to play right in Leslieville, so are there any takers?
Hey Victoria -
I'd love to play. I'm currently playing on 2 TSSC teams but would love to play in the area. I may know a few others. How many people do you have right now?
- Ashleigh
Only me so far:) I have not played floor hockey since gym class in high school but it's fun and I need to lose weight and get into shape. I used to set up the games for co-ed floor hockey and men's volleyball at TSSC. I don't even have a space, but if more people start to be interested then I will give the local community centres and schools a call to see if we can rent a space.
Victoria - I'm down. My partner says she's down, too. I haven't played since jr. high but would love to play if you could set something up in the neighbourhood. I play soccer with TSSC on Wednesdays.
A group of us play drop-in ball hockey at SH Armstrong - run by the city every Thursday at 7PM. Beer afterwards of course. It is a little rough, but non-contact.
HI there. I mentioned it to my husband and he is interested. I might be sometimes as well, but we have a young child and someone needs to watch him! Keep us posted.
Last year, I remember about 20-ish people playing, but last week there were probably 10. A very diverse set of people. This Thursday will be week 3. It's free and inside the gym at SH Armstrong. Bring your stick, and an extra orange hockey ball (they are always short.) Teams are picked randomly - a lot of running when there aren't many people.
Tracey - he's welcome to join and experiment. We generally are too out of shape/old to play the full 2 hours with the younger competition, so end up at the pub by about 8:30/9:00.
Hi Victoria!
I might be interested! I haven't played in eons, but I would love to try. I had a neck injury years ago, i'll pick up a stick and see if I can work it again. I have another friend who would come out and she's awesome. Let me know if you get enough players. Thanks!
My wife and I play TCSSC ball hockey Thursday nights in the fall, but if we switch nights for the winter season (which we might, since we have played on Wednesdays for years), we'd be game for joining the pick up games on Thursday as well (although we don't have our own sticks). It is just for the fall or does it run through the winter?
