For all you foodies out there, I am posting an e-mail I received from the TOUndergroundMarket. Definitely worth checking out!

Hello all,

As most of you already know, I started a passion project four months ago. My background in online marketing came in handy & the idea went viral. My idea has grown into an exciting new food initiative for our fine city of Toronto. It's called the Toronto Underground Market, and the first event is taking place at the Evergreen Brick Works on Saturday, September 24th from 6pm to 11pm. It's an opportunity for home cooks to serve their food to the public and make some money while they're at it. Some vendors at the market are total newbies, and some are more seasoned chefs - but all will be bringing you some crazy delicious food: think deep-fried quail eggs, Vietnamese chicken curry, basil-watermelon lemonade, salted caramel brownies...I mean, need I go on? All food will be prepared either at the Brick Works' commercial kitchens or in another certified commercial kitchen (Hi Toronto Public Health!). And everything will be on offer for between $2 and $8, so it's an awesome, affordable night on the town (or date night!).

So...tickets are $5 and they go on sale tomorrow (midnight tonight to be exact). Go to the website, www.yumtum.ca, to purchase.

Oh! And there'll be booze, from craft breweries and local wineries. As if you needed another reason to come.

Tell your friends, family members, acquaintances, neighbours. Basically, tell every single person you know. This is a night you won't want to miss. But if for some reason you have to miss it, this is a monthly event! The next two dates include Saturday, October 22nd, and Saturday, November 19th. I am taking December off but the TUM will be back in 2012.

Thanks everyone!
