I'm new to Leslieville, but grew up not far from the Bloor Cinema...
So, I don't know much about the history of the Gerrard Cinema and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about whether the owners might consider showing some other movies in addition to what they're currently showing.
I'd be game to join with some others and put together some kind of a "proposal" if there's interest and the possibility of a positive reception...
It does seem like a rep. theatre can be a wonderful part of a great neighbourhood!

Euan and one of two other Grinder people will be there. Allan, who owns the Gerrard Cinema, is supposed to be attending as is someone from Paula Fletcher's office...

Permalink Reply by jg on May 8, 2011 at 12:01am Hi DT -
There are ongoing discussions and a fair bit of interest. There's a Google Group that's been started called "Reinventing Gerrard Cinema." I'm new to Google Groups, but I think you should be able to track us down with the group name and with a request, you'll be able to join the group.
Glad you're interested and hope you find us (if you have any difficulties, write again here and I'm sure we can figure it out!).
:)
