I am wondering what people in Leslieville are using as their internet provider? I'm currently using Rogers but I'd to see what others are using. I have to upload lots files for clients and I'm constantly going over my quota with Rogers. I'm also curious what neighbourhoods are using what service, as it seems to impact performance. I'm looking for something that allows more that 100GB/month.

Thanks!

teksavvy.com DSL.
Teksavvy.  We've been using it for years and it is so much more cost effective.
We use Teksavvy DSL as well - but be warned, we had to get a technician out and get some work done because the performance during peak hours was terrible, and their explanation was that it was due to Bell throttling the line.
You can avoid any throttling by using Tomato/MLPPP...if you are tech savvy.  :P  Sorry, couldn't resist.
Ha! cute. Yeah, that's what we did... costs an extra $4.00 month but no big deal really..
You can easily make the $4 back by referring four people to TekSavvy--they give you $1 off your bill per sign up that references your name.  So far I've only officially referred one person (I still recommend it all the time) but $1 a month is $1 a month.
Been using teksavvy for 4 years. Love 'em.
same - with techsavvy for two years and very pleased! customer service and price are far superior to Bell...

So, does Teksavvy require a regular phone line? I think I originally went with Rogers because the phone lines in my house were not working. In any case it's probably still cheaper to go with Teksavvy and get the lines all fixed.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Ah, my mobile post didn't make it in here.

It's called a dry loop, where there is no phone line.  Teksavvy can take care of that for you, even if it needs repairing, etc.  Ask them about it.

Also, regarding Tomato, that's only for multiple DSL lines.  It's a bonding system that does load balancing.  So unless you have multiple DSLs or Cables (only Teksavvy can support Tomato), then yer out of luck.

You don't actually need multiple DSL lines.  More info here: http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/r21164453-TomatoMLPPP-with-WR...

Bob - if DSL (dry loop or otherwise) is a problem, Teksavvy also has cable internet.

They have pretty great customer service - if you give them a call and explain your situation, I'm sure they can help you with a solution.  I don't usually rave about companies, but I really do love Teksavvy and have had excellent service with them.
