Hey Kelly: not sure if you've found what you needed but there was a discussion a couple of months ago about kitchen designers, etc, found here Leslieviller Kitchen discussion
Hi Kelly, Try James at http://www.carter-fox.ca/ - he did my kitchen! We did not end up taking out our wall (too much time and $$ b/c would have involved underpinning from basement to support the extra load added by beam) but did a pass-through instead. He is good at asking what you want and helping come up with ways to save $$ if you're willling to get involved and source some stuff.
We interview numerous contractors for our kitchen reno a few months back including Leslieville Home Improvement. We found a great guy named Sorin as our general contractor. We also have a terrific electrician and an amazing cabinet guy. email me firstname.lastname@example.org and I will tell you more and show you some pix if you want.
Not sure if you have found a solution for your kitchen. I am a general contractor with over 20 years of experience. We have just completed 2 kitchens in the Riverdale area. One of the projects involved removing a wall and replacing the main support beam for the house to open the kitchen to the rest of the house. If you are still looking for a contractor I would like to meet and offer our services. My company name is Live Well Renovations I am listed in the business section of this site.
If you would like to learn more about what we offer you can call me,Alan at 416-435-6521
We used Oomph Design and Millworx as the contractors for our 3rd floor renovation. The same guys did our friends kitchen, and our other friends kitchen. Beautiful work and upstanding people to work with. I would highly recommend them.
