A new men's shelter is proposed for Leslie Street, in the old Legion building just north of Loblaws.  It will be operated by the Salvation Army and house 124 men.

Beaches counsellor McMahon says she supports it.  I wonder if she would say that if was proposed for the heart of the Beach?  Actually, I don't wonder.

What bothers me is that these projects are inevitably rammed into the poorest areas (where there is the least resistance).  So the same people who were forced to accept the streetcar tracks get this as well.

The rich get richer.
