There's another new loft project in town...

It seems that preparations are being made on Carlaw Avenue. "Showcase Lofts", promising refined living @ Carlaw & Colgate Avenue.

I did some digging... they're calling for a 230 unit, 7 story building proposed by Aragon Properties.

According to Aragon, some of the standard finishes will include; 9ft ceilings, engineered hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and "reclaimed brick" interior feature walls in all units.

If anyone is interested in launch dates and floor plans... I'd be happy to keep to keep you in the loop.

Good to hear.  While I'm heartened to see it replace an empty field with townhouse sign that has been there all 6 years we've been in the neighbourhood, was concerned about the design.

We went into the Sales Centre last week, and according to all of their printed info they've modified the exterior so that everything below the 5th floor will be brick exterior and everything above the 5th floor (I think it's only 7 floors total) will be stamped concrete. It hasn't been updated on the model so we couldn't see what it would look like, but the fact that it's brick is encouraging!

Like I said, the model didn't show the updated brick design, and I'm not sure what color. Fingers crossed it won't be yellow!! :)

Definitely a question that should be asked at the community consultation...

Surely they have an updated picture.  These things are all designed and rendered on them information computers, so I'm assuming they've done their homework in regards to how it looks.  If they haven't, then it's a big red flag, if you ask me.  The new version might look like a hamburger for all I know.  And not one from Great Burger Kitchen, I might add.
Looks like a 70s apartment building.  Buildings usually look better in renderings.  Very concerned since I'm already bored by the rendering.
