There's another new loft project in town...

It seems that preparations are being made on Carlaw Avenue. "Showcase Lofts", promising refined living @ Carlaw & Colgate Avenue.

I did some digging... they're calling for a 230 unit, 7 story building proposed by Aragon Properties.

According to Aragon, some of the standard finishes will include; 9ft ceilings, engineered hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and "reclaimed brick" interior feature walls in all units.

If anyone is interested in launch dates and floor plans... I'd be happy to keep to keep you in the loop.

Actually there's 2 locations around there.  North side of Colgate on Carlaw, and Southeast corner of Colgate & Verral Ave.
Update : I just left the VIP broker event @ showcase lofts. Pricing is around 485-525 per square foot.

In my opinion the units will appreciate simply because of the awesome location. I unfortunately am not a huge fan of the design. I think the project could of looked a lot better. It's fairly suburban looking for this location....Could of been a lot more striking. I also have a problem the builder calling this a loft with their 9 foot ceilings and layouts. It's more of a condo apartment. Utilitarian spaces still sell though... And it's another option for somebody looking to get into the neighborhood.

I have my hands on price lists and floor plans if anyone would like to take a look.

Jr. 1bedrooms start @ 224,900
1 Bedrooms start @ 317,000 parking included
2 Bedroom start @ 441,900 parking included
3 Bedroom start @ 534,900 parking included but really who needs a 3 bedroom apartment in Leslieville?
I have floort
I've seen the rendering of this building, and it's appalling. It feels contemptuous, a big F-you to the people of Leslieville from the developer. The city should insist they revise the architectural design of this thing.
This condo should be sent to the Design Review panel - the render is hideous.

I just saw a picture of what this building will look like.

IT IS HIDEOUS.

This reminds me of Toronto Housing buildings built in the 60's.

ARE THEY NUTS!! who is going to buy into this?

Two 3D model shots show different.

Scratch, those shots put to rest the concerns about the yellow colour of the rendering, but I still think it's totally wrong for the street and the neighbourhood. The massing is wrong. The detailing is wrong. It is suburban when it should be urban. I'm surprised they didn't show the model nestled on 5 acres of meadows with a stream running past.
I don't trust 'em.  I am chasing them on Twitter to see when the consultation to the public is.  It's still ugly.

I agree.

It looks like a poor man's retirement home.

Why would I buy this Aragon monstrosity when they have all these fabulous options on Carlaw with so much character.

These idiots from Vancouver should really visit this site before they put out ads and 3D models.

Then the rendering is different than the model.  They will have to explain.  Now they are taking visitations by appointment only, probably to keep probing eyes out.

If you want to contact the Aragon Developers and bring to their attention some of your concerns.
