Is it a  "real" pub or only a chain outlet?


I think The Roy, on Queen St,  is an independent pub.

Huh? What's the Roy got to do with this? This new place is on Gerrard: the Roy is on Queen, about ten blocks away from the pub we're talking about. 


I've never heard of any other "McGugan's" pubs. Frankly, I'd even be happy with a Firkin in the area, as long as there are decent pints and clean washrooms.

Mary McGugan (Koutsogiannopoulos) is part owner of the Great Burger Kitchen and I believe this is another one of their ventures.
They also operate the Wine Bar, on Church below Front.

Very excited by this!


My commute from the pub home just got a little shorter!

Looks like the website is still being built. They've temporarily put up a landing page with an email address and some text.
