Went there (Cdn Pie Co.) on Sunday - the Portuguese Custard Tart or whatever it's called was delish. They were giving them away with purchase of a beverage. YUM! They also have a ton of savory pie/quiche things and gorgeous looking fruit pies. Will definitely go back soon!!!
Just thought I'd bump this discussion to the top again - I noticed a lot of covered up windows this weekend in the neighbourhood - seems like there's a lot of new place coming potentially. Does anyone know what else is coming? Any updates on the old Bario space?
There are some exciting things coming up! Here's what I've heard:
The old Inspired Cook space (beside the Film Buff) is becoming Sausage Partners. It's being opened by the Chef from Starfish. He's a butcher and makes delicious smoked meats.
The Inspired Cook moved to the old dentist beside Eds Real Scoop.
The space beside Bergstrom Originals is opening as "The Olive Pit" ... olive oils and things.
Dale and Patrick from MacFab are opening a home furnishings and reupholstery shop in the old Liloo space.
"The Garden" which was the office just west of Ok Ok Diner is going to be a restaurant. Dean and Nikki, the owners of The Comrade are opening it, hopefully for August/September and it will be amazing.
Does anyone know what's going on with the two spaces by WAYLA? The brown building finally sold, and the giant white one is up for grabs.
I'm not sure what is going on in the brown building but I love what I am seeing so far. The keep a small window open in the brown paper covering the window and keep changing the display. It has me intrigued as to what is going to end up in the space.
Thanks for the updates on everything else!
I just found out that RubyWatch Co restaurant rented out the corner at Queen East and Grant (formerly the Ring) kitty corners the Stephen Carras building. I wonder what is going to go in there? It’s a great corner lot with the potential for a patio.
New addition to the hood coming soon...
