Has anyone felt the chaos of Carlaw between 4-6pm Northbound? It's a nightmare getting up that short stretch from Lakeshore to Eastern. I am writing to city council asking that there is no parking allowed on that stretch during rush hour M-F, is anyone else interested in this?
Thanks

Permalink Reply by ceedee123 on November 16, 2011 at 6:38pm The area I am speaking out is the stretch between Lakeshore and Eastern - there is nothing but houses and supply yards, very industrial. No schools. Speed shouldn't be an issue- it's about cars parked bringing the road down to one lane during very busy hours while many cars are trying to get up to Queen and Eastern. It's a small stretch of road where speed is likely not the key issue being faced. This would cause no safety issues, there is not a lot of pedestrian traffic. For anyone who gets stuck in this every day, it's not fun and could easily be addressed by changing the parking times. They do this on many streets, it's a common regulation but is not implemented on Carlaw.
Permalink Reply by Leslie Barns on November 16, 2011 at 8:58pm Why Eastern? The problem goes all the way up to Dundas. Carlaw & Dundas is probably one of the largest development areas in the City. South, East, West are single lanes. You think it's bad now? You just wait.

Permalink Reply by ceedee123 on November 17, 2011 at 9:29am I was thinking selfishly as I only take Carlaw to Eastern during those hours coming home from work, but it's a hefty wait to get through. It would be great to have the no-stopping signs posted along that stretch if they are already up north of Queen. I am more than happy to note all of Carlaw in my letter to the city just in case :) Thanks for the suggestion. It's probably a good idea to get ahead of the traffic woes that await!
