Please call me at 416 768 7070 right away if you see Zucchi. (zooky) She's a small cat, only 8-10 lbs, very friendly and chatty normally, but sure she's scared right now, as she is totally an indoor cat.

Keep in mind that scared cats don't often travel far. Don't give up! Shake food dishes and check especially under decks, behind garbage/recycling and other dark hiding places.

I am so sorry, and I could be wrong, but I was on a run along Dundas (just east of Greenwood, west of Highfield on the south side) a few hours ago and I saw a cat that was black with a white patch under his/her chin and it had been hit by a car. It was dead. Someone had laid it on a piece of cardboard. Again I am so sorry if I am right and this is your cat (I have 4 cats and they are part of our family) OR if I am wrong and unneccessarily upsetting you. My heart goes out to you and/or whomever owned the beautiful cat. Lisa

Hi Lisa. I did go check out that cat, and fortunately (for us) it wasn't ours. I appreciate you letting me know tho and thank you for keeping your eyes open for us. Our cat Zucchi is still on the lam, but hoping she makes it home any minute now. And to whomever does own that poor cat on Dundas, my condolences.

Thanks for letting me know Stacey. I'm glad it was not Zucchi... although of course I'm sad for whoever is missing that cat on Dundas - I hope they know. From experience I feel it is better to know. If it is any consolation my indoor cat Bunny was missing 9 days and turned up totally fine. Thank goodness since it was my mom who let her out and that would have seriously damaged our relationship! As mentioned by a previous poster, indoor cats do get scared and hide. good luck and I hope to hear a happy ending soon.

The cat on Dundas was picked up by Tor Animal Services and had been microchipped. TAS is trying to locate his owners, but they are not answering the phone, maybe they are on vacation or something. But atleast they will know eventually. I too agree that I would rather know than not know, but I am holding out on Zucchi wandering home after finishing her adventures. Glad to hear you got your cat back, that helps me a lot!

Great news! Zucchi is back home again, safe and sound! Thanks for all the tips, suggestions etc to help us get her home again. This is a great neighbourhood with really great people!

Based on neighbour's reports, it seemed she wandered up the street about 20 houses, and then slowly seemed to be working her way back this way. She was apprehended under a deck by some neighbours about 6 houses away. I found this great website http://www.catsinthebag.org/ that gave tons of tips on locating lost cats and/or getting them to return home. I applied some of the advice, and who knows, maybe that's why she was getting closer to home each day!
