I'm excited to announce a new Postnatal Yoga class at Yoga Yoga East!
Postnatal (Mum & Baby) Yoga will be offered on Tuesdays from 11:30am-12:30pm, beginning January 10th. Contact the studio to pre-register!
Connect with a community of mothers and share your experience, support & laughter as you rediscover the joy of movement. Mums will learn a dynamic and nurturing yoga sequence that will help restore the pelvic floor, regain inner/outer strength, and tune into a sense of calm. You are welcome to join this pre-registered 5 week series of classes as soon as you feel ready (usually from about 6 weeks postpartum) and can continue to enjoy consecutive sessions until your baby is crawling.
(A mums & crawlers class is in the works as well. Let me know if you're interested!)
When my babe was small, I used to trek an hour on the streetcar to get to a class that I could bring him to, because I loved being around other new mums and babies, and having an hour that was just about taking care of me. I was surprised that I couldn't find a similar class in the east end, when Leslieville & the Beach is so baby friendly! (Since moving out here and having my son, I've joked that the east end is where the west end goes to grow up!) I'm thrilled to have to opportunity to begin teaching at such a great studio, and to make available to the community something that meant so much to me as a new mum.
