The service started out poor, hostess wasn't able to tell us if complimentary bread came before the meal. With such a limited menu, how could she not know? Nobody took the time to explain the prix fix to us, we had to ask. But still looking forward to our pizza, which we were sharing. Although the crust was excellent, the Italian sausage was medicore, the gorgonzola cheese was a liitle sparse. But the worst was that the pizza was unevenly slopped into the oven so it was half bald. Yuck. Then nobody offered us the desert that came with the prix fix. But at that point, we just left to have ice cream elsewhere. Not the best pizza in Toronto at all in opinion.

Yes....certainly overrated.....there are better places in Leslieville to enjoy weld-baked pizza with MUCH better service!!!!
Agree!!  Not my favourite place....will travel to Libretto across town for good pizza.  Apparently, Libretto is opening a sister restaurant somewhere on the Danforth soon. Can't wait!

Live in the neighbourhood and have been there twice. Both times we had the same waiter and the same crappy service.

Same thing. No explanation of the prix fixe. No offer of drinks. Actually, that's not true, he asked two of us and then left the other 4 people at the table with their tiny glasses of water. One of us ordered the prix fixe, again same thing, no mention of dessert at the end.  The pizza was great though which is why we made the second trip.

Overall though, I'll take mediocre pizza with good service any day over QMP. Lil Baci is fantastic has a better menu too!

I really liked the two times that I went.  Nice server, delish pizza and great atmosphere.  The people that I was with felt the same and would go back in a heartbeat.
My biggest problem is that they are in such a rush that the already sparse pizzas are made further bland by undercooking.
We really enjoyed our first two takeout pizzas when they first opened, but found that the last two appeared carelessly thrown together: soprasetta mounded together in two small piles and all of three olives over the whole surface. Not worthy of the price tag! Once would be  a mishap, twice makes it not worthy of a third try, no matter how tasty the crust...
Absolutely overrated imo.  There are great places to eat in the hood...much better than QM.
agreed. i normally love thin crust pizzas, but i find queen margheritas to be too doughy..undercooked, sparse toppings and kind of flavourless. and staff seem to be way too cool. they need to take it down a notch.
I have always enjoyed Queen Margherita and love the busy atmosphere.  We've had a bad waiter before and that can definitely contribute to a bad experience.  But I am addicted to that doughy crust so I keep going back.  The only downside is I hate seeing my 70$ bill for two pizzas and a couple of drinks...

I agree!, very overrated.

I went  in the spring of 2011, and I couldn't believe how boomy the room was - it was hard to hear my date....and I'm not hard of hearing.  Where we were seated  upstairs, the tables were  so close together, that everytime our server passed by, she'd bump the table, and us.  I'm not a very big person either.

The pizza was bland, goopy, and really doughy.  Servcie wasn't exceptional either.  Too bad, as I was really looking forward to eating there, from all the praise I'd heard when it opened.

I went back a few weekends ago to give them a second chance and had a much better experience!!  The pizza was perfect and the staff very friendly and attentive - it was a 180 flip from the last time I went....

Don't give up on them just yet!  I want to support local businesses as much as I can!

We've been at least 4 times and have been really happy with the service and food ... guess it can depend on the night. I do wish they had more than just the prix fixe or pizza alone though. I don't like dessert - so I'd like to be able to order just an appetizer and pizza. However, the past few times we've gone it has been PACKED - so I guess they've found a business model that works for them.
