We dropped into this little spot just around the corner from Celine Gardens on Carlaw the other day for lunch. Before it opened we had wandered by and got excited looking at the posted menu in the window - it looked like they were serving up some Austrian/German fare like goulash, schnizel, etc. So when we finally got there it was quite dissapointing to see that the menu had been revised to just have some rather standard breakfast items, sandwiches, and desserts (they still had schnitzel).
I ordered the schnitzel plate and my husband had the roast beef sandwich. The coffee is self serve at the coffee bar. To say it was dissapointing is being kind. My schnitzel was rock hard and tasteless, and the sandwich, while good, was tiny and expensive. We got a piece of apple strudel to go (hoping it would redeem the place) but it too was dissapointing with soggy pastry and a tasteless filling.
The service was also terrible. Extremely slow.
I was really hoping for better. :(
