Tailor
I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a local tailor. I bought a couple of pairs of pants recently that I need hemmed. Nothing too complicated, but one of the pairs does have a nice cuff that I would like to keep.

I've been going to Tina's at Pape and Queen (South East corner) for years. She does a really good job... not much on the talking, which works for me. Very fair prices and reliable. If you're looking for a "Tailor" experience (I don't know what that is), this is probably not the place for you (it doubles as a convenience store). She let's you change in the laminate floor encased bathroom, if you need her to measure your duds.

Has anyone been to the dry-cleaner/alterations place that's on Queen just West of Greenwood? Next to the variety store? I was thinking about getting some hemming done there.

My sister got a dress altered there (as recommended by the folks at Any Direct Flight where she bought the dress). She did a really great job on the dress, and my sister highly recommends her. I figure if the designer at Any Direct Flight trusts her with her clothes, she must be good!
I took a coat to her for relining (which it turns out she doesn't do) so she recommended I take it to Selina Fashions on Queen just west of Jones. She was fantastic as well.

Do not go to Salina's Fashions on Queen near Caroline. I brought in curtains to be hemmed and they cut them in a zig zag. The curtains are now destroyed.

The tailor at Queen nr Greenwood is Zips, it's a cleaner's. The owner's name is Carmen. She does a wonderful job, has done work for us for well over a decade, and we are fussy.

I've gone there - I highly recommend her. She altered a pair of jeans for me ( made a boot cut into a straight cut) and I couldn't be happier. - I found her rates reasonable.

I've heard great things about the little dry cleaner just west of Greenwood for tailoring. Haven't tried yet, but will!
I went to Tina as well, but she can be a little forgetful sometimes! Nice work though.
