Are there plans in the works for a 2011 STOMP?

Hi there,

Can I please know if there are plans in the works for a 2011 STOMP? I've enjoyed shopping it in previous years. This year I may have time to volunteer a bit - but I need to know soon, so that I can dedicate it.

Hi Marla,

I've put out some feelers to last year's organizers as well, but so far, I haven't been able to connect (yet). Last year I ran an afternoon of free kids events, and I'm planning on doing something again on the last weekend of May regardless. But, I'd love to hook up with the stompers again! I'd be happy to meet up with you and anyone else who's interested. I know one of the organizers has a great spread sheet of businesses who participated last year, so a lot of the ground work has been done. We'd also need someone to get local residents involved in the yard sales. And maybe another person to coordinate the marketing materials.

Can we turn this thread into a call for volunteers? Let us know who's interested!

My name is Anna, I helped out last year. Looks like I will the organizing one, Ann-Marie just got ahold of me today and I had a note on my calendar for today to follow up with everyone! So lets get Stomping!

Dates for 2011 Stomp May 28 , 29

Like to set a meeting date so we can get going. Please let me know if Mon Apr 4 or Wed Apr 6 at 630pm works for everyone. Thinking Stratengers hoping for nice weather for patio!

Thanks for responding, everyone.

I'm notorious for over-committing, and I have a school event to get through before I know what my time is like for late May, but I'm likely going to be available for some kind of small task when the time comes. My resolution this year was to "choose sanity". I may or may not be able to attend the meeting next week, but will hope to be kept in the loop.

I can offer, perhaps, my husband's graphic design skills and a connection with a local printer for the marketing materials, if there isn't an existing relationship to use this year. (You've seen his work around the neighbourhood - if you contact me privately, I can point you toward examples). Just please keep posting specific jobs that you need volunteers for, and I will try to choose ones that I actually can do - not just ones that I think or hope or imagine that I can do.
