Passing along this request from Project Maddie (originally on FB):
HELP!
An elderly couple dear to a friend of Project Maddie have both fallen quite ill. They have an energetic two year-old black Lab cross named Rover. He's friendly with everybody and everything, great in the car, and needs a lot of stimulation and activity. This couple loves dogs and are loathe to give him up but are hoping to find him a temporary home, with room to run and act like a goof, until they can deal with their medical issues. Until they find such a place, they are hoping to get a dogwalker who can give him some decent exercise. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, I would appreciate it. They live in Riverdale (Toronto).
Please note that this is likely a volunteer (not compensated) request, and it is urgent. We need someone with a big heart in the Riverdale area to help this elderly couple so they do not have to give up their dog.
If you can help or know someone who can please comment below or e-mail projectmaddie at gmail.com

Looking for a local dog walker?
I work within the Leslieville and Riverdale area, caring for your pets. I take dogs in social groups of no more than 6 to the greatest dog park in the city, Cherry Beach. Here they exercise and socialize in the beautiful forested area and beach. Dogs are brought home happily exhausted.
Other services include:
Pack Walks
Private Walks
Relief Breaks
Pet Taxi
Dog Daycare
Cat Visits
Please write for further information.
Warmly,
Ashleigh
While I haven't had my dogs groomed by Lawrence or the recent 'bad groomer' at Timmie's, I did take my two dogs in for a groom today and I'm unimpressed. Both have 'Betty Page' eyebrows and look completely ridiculous. Why wouldn't a mini schnauzer get schnauzer brows instead of practically no brows? And the hair on her back is patchy with different lengths. Thankfully hair grows back, but I won't be back to Timmie's for grooming.
a quick note to the dog walkers out there, We've got new leash rings next to our big garage door, and doggie treats for your pup. Come on by, mention you read this note, and we'll give you 10% off! (belly rubs free!)

Just a head's up for smaller dog owners: there is the ability for your little ones to escape out of the pen through the west-side gates by crawling under both gate doors.
A lady saw this happen two days ago while a couple of dog walkers weren't paying attention to their pack and a small, white dog got away and started heading down the street! She asked me if it was my dog and I realized it was part of the bigger dog walking pack and alerted the girls that they had lost one for their dogs!
Luckily they got him back, but it would have been a hard lesson learned had the lady not noticed this happen!!
I've brought this to the attention of the City's Parks + Rec Dept. in the hopes of having it fixed promptly to avoid any further safety issues.
