Hi all,

We're expecting our baby in April, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a diaper service that operates in the area. I've got a few leads, but it's always good to hear more firsthand experiences. I'm also open to input about what we need initially (how many diaper covers, etc.), just to get a sense of it.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Margot,
We've been using Comfy Cotton since last April and have been extremely happy with the service.

The advice we were giving is that for a newborn (and our first baby), we might want to consider first using disposables until we somewhat got 'settled' and then introduce cloth diapers. Comfy Cotton helped us in terms of recommending how many diaper covers we should start with etc. We've been using Bummies for our covers and again, we're extremely happy with them.

Also, we've been using disposables at night...more for selfish reasons in that with cloth diapers, you'll need to change the baby more often and so they don't seem to last the whole night. So disposable diapers seems to keep our little guy dry and sleeping through the night. (In terms of disposables, we've been using the 7th Generation diapers and love them)

Hope this helps!

We used Comfy Cotton for the first four months of my son's life, right from birth. We then bought our own diaper stash and have been washing our own ever since. I really liked the convenience of using a diaper service. We stopped using them because I found that the prefold diapers supplied were not absorbant enough. The staff at Comfy Cotton is extremely knowledgeable about what to get, and they tended towards recommending less rather than more. Also, their prices on covers, diaper pails, etc., are excellent, especially compared with retail prices elsewhere.

Another option which only recently came to Toronto is Happy Nappy. They charge more than Comfy Cotton, but offer fitted diapers. If they were around before we bought our diaper stash, I probably would have given them a try.
Looks like Comfy Cotton is the way to go -- I've also had them recommended by some other people, too. Thanks for the feedback!
