Hi Everyone,

I am starting a parenting reading group in Leslieville.  I am a therapist in the area, and along with facilitating a great discussion, the goal of the group is to give each person in attendance customized advice from the books we read that they can actually use. Many people read a parenting book only to never use the information in it. My goal in doing the reading group is empower parents to use the wealth of great information out there to raise their children.

This month, we're reading Alfie Kohn's "Unconditional Parenting", a book that challenges traditional ways of rewarding and disciplining children. The book is available online and at most book stores in the city. More information can be found here.

The date is Wednesday March 31, from 6-8pm at Lil Bean and Green.  The cost is $15, but that is solely for a catered meal provided by Lil Bean for parents in attendance.  I'm holding the group at Lil Bean so you can bring your children if you want.  Also, you need not read the entire book to attend.  Knowing how busy parents are, I structure the discussion so that people do not have to have read the book in any great detail to get something out of attending.

This sounds interesting-I have read that book so hearing another's insight about it would be helpful. Please count me in.

Thanks Manjit. A lot of people have mentioned that they have read the book, and I'm glad that it's getting some good attention.
