My son is 2 years old and is currently in daycare. I'm starting a new job on Monday so if daycare is closed for any reason, I can't miss work. I'm looking for someone who can be "on call" in these last minute situations. He's in a home daycare so if the person who runs it is sick, daycare is closed. I'm open to various situations, so even if you're already caring for another child, or if you're running a daycare, I can bring my son to you. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

Hi, my 2 year old son is currently in daycare however his daycare will be closed from May 12-19.  If anyone has a spot for him during this period it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me at: meghan.mcrae@gmail.com.  Thank you.

Not sure about full day kindergarten for your 3 year old? Our amazing nanny is starting a playschool kindergarten readiness program. The program runs from 9 - 12 Monday to Friday and opens this September! Check it out at readysetgoplayschool.com

Looking for full-time childcare for your 1-2 year old beginning in July? We are currently in a nanny share but the other family will be leaving us shortly for daycare. We have an incredible nanny (15+ years experience, ECE, First-Aid & CPR, great knowledge of neighbourhood), and I like to think we're a great family to share with! Our son is 17 months old (we also have a 4 year old cared for through his school so he is not involved in the share) and we live near Queen&Broadview. Please contact me at nandim@hotmail.com if you are interested - thanks!

Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any theatre/acting classes for young kids (a 4-year-old) in the area. Looking for something in evening or weekend, preferably. I'd love any tips.

Thanks,

Carolyn

Hi,

We're looking for a family to share a nanny with starting in June. We have two kids (ages 1 and 4) so we are looking for one other child. Our 4 year old is in kindergarten most of the year but will be home for the summer. If you're interested, please email me at christine.e.arnold@gmail.com . We have done a nanny-share in the past and had an amazing experience. Hoping to repeat it!

Hi everyone,

I have the following for sale:

Baby Car Seat

Paid $220.00 – asking $110

Barely used red and black Graco Snugride 30 baby car seat. It fits a baby from 4 to 30 lbs and up to 30 inches. It has a 5 point, front-adjust harness. Removable infant body support  which cusions baby’s head. See this website for more details: http://www.graco.net/e/item.asp?code=19044&s=0653GFD.

The reason that the car seat is barely used is because we had a car seat but my daughter was too small for the Snugride 35 that we had – they would not let her out of the hospital without having a 5 point harness and the two slots at the seat. This is an ideal seat for a preemie. We have two cars, so the Snugride 30 baby car seat was in the car that we don’t often use. It is like brand new.

Baby Car Seat Base

Paid $80 – asking $40

The car seat comes with a base; however, if you have two cars you will need to have an extra base. It fits both the Snugride 30 and the Snugride 35 car seat. Again, the base was barely used. See this website for more details: http://www.safetysuperstore.ca/product/24545/graco_snugride_classic...

Baby Stroller for Graco Snugride 30 and 35 Car Seat

Paid $99 – asking $35

We purchased a stroller frame for the car seat (see the picture). This was the most convenient purchase we made for the baby! We had another stroller that we used for long walks but this stroller was great because we left it in our car to use for shopping. It is super light and very easy to open and close. You just put the car seat onto the stroller. There is a large basket underneath that holds a bunch of stuff. I must say – of all the baby things out there – this was one of the most useful!

If you take all three – a price can be negotiated.

When I launched this site in early 2009, one of the compelling reasons for doing so was that I was struck by how many of the businesses in Leslieville are locally owned and operated.  Another big observation was (and still is) how proud most…
