City Critters by the Toronto Botanical Gardens are Coming to Jones Library
Sat Jun 03, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

City Critters is a dynamic hour-long educational program for children and their families. A Toronto Botanical Gardens presenter will introduce participants to Toronto's misunderstood urban wildlife through storytelling, nature artifacts, hands-on activities and audio-visual clips. This City Critters program includes a nature craft to take home.

Leslieville Local History Walking Tour!
Remembering 150 years 1867 to 2017
Thurs June 8th at 6:30pm starting at Jones Library

Join local Leslieville Historian Joanne Doucette as she takes us on a historical walk dressed in period clothes complete with a bonnet! Walk will start at Jones library and circle back while visiting local places of interest. Stops include:

The sweat lodge and ravine just west of Jones
Lesliegrove Park (the site of the George Leslie house is at the n.e. corner of Jones & Queen)
Leslieville General Store (Curzon & Queen)
Maple Cottage
Uncle Tom's Cabin site (just west of the Duke of York)
Brickyard site (Bertmount)

90 min approx.

Arduino for Beginners

ones Library will host the travelling Pop-Up Learning Lab during May with many tech and innovative programs planned throughout the month.

Pop-Up Learning Labs travel to different branches to bring new and emerging technology to your community through staff-led programs and classes. The lab includes a 3D Printer, Arduino starter kit, Snap Circuits, Robotics, Scratch Coding and Makey Makey.
