CLEANING UP THE LANEWAYS IN LESLIEVILLE

Although the City of Toronto does nothing to clean the laneways and maintain them, I might be suggesting that this neighborhoud get together to start some of kind of activity to either upkeep, repair and maintain these areas which are quickly becoming eyesores.  Never mind the situation with dogs eating potential dangerous foods and dying, these laneways are extensions of the streets and our backyards.  I am amazed at the people feel that they can leave trash hanging around; fence doors…See More

"WEll obviously the situation as described was true and duly noted on the news.  People need to be careful walking your dogs along the main streets and NOT the laneways which are less then desirable at any given time.  They are dirty, have…"

LE BON MATIN....LATEST LITTLE LESLIEVILLE TREASURE

Well Toronto is finally coming of age  but still has some catching up to do to great cities like Montreal and Paris for it''s abundance of bakeries and bread shops.  However fear not we are lucky to have Le Bon Matin open up recently at the corner of Coady and Queen (formely Leonidas). This is the first of their retail outlets although they do have already a reputation selling to various restaurants and other venues directly.  Now us happy consumers get indulge in the great croissants, baguettes…See More

RUBY EATS....ANOTHER NEW GREAT LOCAL FIND

Posted on July 31, 2011 at 2:30pm 2 Comments

Well if you have yet to try Ruby Watchco, then you must try Lynn Crawford's newest addition to our neighborhood, Ruby Eats.

This great little "foodie" place will likely become a great hit in the hood....Full of great products and great ideas this is only going to get better.  A recent walk by, I landed on an opportunity to watch Lynn herself show us how to pull together a great Succotash salad.  The 20 of us or so who were in the store, got to participate, watch, learn and…

GREAT LOCAL CATERER- NIBBLES AND NOSH OWNER STEPHEN CLARKE

Posted on May 15, 2011 at 7:04pm 0 Comments

I had the great pleasure of being invited to a special weekend brunch which was catered by a wonderful local caterer .

Stephen has been in the food business for several years both here and abroad, and most recently part of the Four Season's chain.  Being the entrepreneur that he is , he decided to go out on his own.  So far so good for this business guy.  Apparently keeping quite busy, including the likes of hosting smaller party venues (50 people) for companies like…

WHAT TO DO WITH THAT NICE BIG HOLE AT THE CORNER OF PAPE AND QUEEN

Posted on December 31, 2009 at 5:10pm 1 Comment

Well i've written about this in the past to find out who might own this lot and this less than 1/2 constructed building that is fast becoming an eyesore in the neighborhoud.

I recently read that elsewhere in the city, there was a similar construction site that went unattended for sometime and the neighbours complained (it was summer and the construction hole was quickly filling with water). Water is not the problem it's the mosquito's and other debris that was also collecting in this… Continue
