I had their multigrain baguette for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. It truly is different than your typical grocery store baguette. Totally worth a try. And I accidentally had a croissant too. Also amazing! I'll be a regular…

Totally agree, dog owner here, and I do find that folks in this particular neighborhoud are not at all good about either picking up or disposing of their dogs waste in the appropriate manner.  Maybe someone needs to do the same in front of…

I popped in the other day between dog walks and bought a croissant - it was absolutely delicious and I am sure had I not had my gloves on, the doggies would have licked the butter off my fingers!

LE BON MATIN....LATEST LITTLE LESLIEVILLE TREASURE

Well Toronto is finally coming of age  but still has some catching up to do to great cities like Montreal and Paris for it''s abundance of bakeries and bread shops.  However fear not we are lucky to have Le Bon Matin open up recently at the corner of Coady and Queen (formely Leonidas). This is the first of their retail outlets although they do have already a reputation selling to various restaurants and other venues directly.  Now us happy consumers get indulge in the great croissants, baguettes…See More

Had the same thing at our home.  Came and wanted to know what was done since 1992.  Wasn't quite sure what to answer since I have not been here since then.  Had indicated that no major renovations were done externally i'e…

The Stage East Lofts seem to be on the never never plan as well.  I can only imagine how maddening it would be to have purchased a unit in either of these developments.

I wrote a brief blog post about that about a month ago: http://www.springrealty.ca/?whats-with-that-development-at-the-se-corner-of-queen-and-pape&p=1192 The developers got in way over their heads and are now slowly trying to complete the job.…

LACK OF ACTIVITY AT THE CORNER OF PAPE AND QUEEN

Does anyone know what is going on with the building/ condo at the corner of Queen and Pape.  Nothing has been going on for several months and needless to say and I'm sure everyone will agree, this unfinished building is becoming an eyesore?  Anyone have any information? See More

Went into this venue a few weeks ago and it was lovely.  The staff was helpful and I loved the decor.  I picked up a menu and am very excited about trying the food soon.  Extremely happy that they have moved in.

Enoteca Acari.....a new venue in the Leslieville hood.

Well our newest restaurant to open is Enoteca Ascari.....with the closing of Toast on Queen and the move of Tomi Kro to Gerrard, I am guessing we needed something to replace them.  Well this is the same owners as Table 17 just down the street, and having been there now twice in the past 2 weeks, I have to say I'm favourably impressed.  Let's say that in it's early days, I"m giving this place  a 4 out of 5 "A"'s rating from me .  The menu is simple, short and sweet ....and i do mean that quite…See More

agree greedy landlord will have empty space to deal with.  As for the move there are several other locations on Queen between Jones and the tracks that could have accommodated.  That's too bad to see them go.

Well all i have to say is non payment of rent means something.  Either no clients or poor management.  Amazing that they can open up elsewhere in the neighborhoud.  And that said if the service and food were not good in one location…

RUBY EATS....ANOTHER NEW GREAT LOCAL FIND

Posted on July 31, 2011 at 2:30pm 2 Comments

Well if you have yet to try Ruby Watchco, then you must try Lynn Crawford's newest addition to our neighborhood, Ruby Eats.

This great little "foodie" place will likely become a great hit in the hood....Full of great products and great ideas this is only going to get better.  A recent walk by, I landed on an opportunity to watch Lynn herself show us how to pull together a great Succotash salad.  The 20 of us or so who were in the store, got to participate, watch, learn and…

GREAT LOCAL CATERER- NIBBLES AND NOSH OWNER STEPHEN CLARKE

Posted on May 15, 2011 at 7:04pm 0 Comments

I had the great pleasure of being invited to a special weekend brunch which was catered by a wonderful local caterer .

Stephen has been in the food business for several years both here and abroad, and most recently part of the Four Season's chain.  Being the entrepreneur that he is , he decided to go out on his own.  So far so good for this business guy.  Apparently keeping quite busy, including the likes of hosting smaller party venues (50 people) for companies like…

WHAT TO DO WITH THAT NICE BIG HOLE AT THE CORNER OF PAPE AND QUEEN

Posted on December 31, 2009 at 5:10pm 1 Comment

Well i've written about this in the past to find out who might own this lot and this less than 1/2 constructed building that is fast becoming an eyesore in the neighborhoud.

I recently read that elsewhere in the city, there was a similar construction site that went unattended for sometime and the neighbours complained (it was summer and the construction hole was quickly filling with water). Water is not the problem it's the mosquito's and other debris that was also collecting in this… Continue

SO WHAT'S HAPPENING AT PAPE AND QUEEN STREET

Posted on October 20, 2009 at 7:23pm 5 Comments

so yet another eyesore to contend with. the builder is obviously running into some issues and that is either he can't figure out how to build that condo at the corner and or has decided that the elevator shaft is a distinct enough site for our neighborhoud.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on there, before i go counsellor Fletcher and try to get some answers.

On another note here are some great finds....

Te Aro Coffee shop ....wonderful little spot. Love… Continue
