In The Mouth. Part 7. The Roy Irishes Up Leslieville

Posted on March 11, 2009 at 10:02am 10 Comments

Monday night saw the opening of The Roy Public House, which now occupies the space once known as Kubo Radio. Kubo Radio offered the best lychee martinis west of the Prime Meridian, so The Roy really had an uphill climb to gain my approval.

Generally I'm not a fan of the North American take on the Irish pub. I find I can't distinguish one from the other, and while their intent is to be a social place they often border on vapid.

Vegas has evolved from the days of $0.99 buffets and mole sauce in a paper cub at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaworld. Today some… Continue

Winterlicious is on from January 30-Feb 12, 2009

Here are some good Leslieville (and near Leslieville) Winterlicious options.

In Leslieville

There aren't too many local restaurants participating (it's a shame, I really wanted to try Fare Bistro). Here are a few in the area:

1. Edward Levesque's Kitchen: They have a $20 prix fixe lunch and $35 dinner. The menu can be found here:…
