"It sounds like an old mud room that was converted, or an addition that wasn't done properly. You may be able to put a beam across the structure. Digging new piers will obviously be a problem, but I would have to see it. Best to fix the problem…"

These old houses - foundation work?

Hi all - I'm wondering if anyone has a similar situation as us.We discovered after purchasing our semi-detached house (first time buyers) that we have no foundation underneath our kitchen, but rather two pillars holding up the addition. "I noticed shattered auto glass on Fairford between Craven & Ashdale last week. I suspect something desirable was in plain sight, so the car was targeted. We've learned to leave our car virtually empty - no point in tempting fate."

"Not that I've tested it, but Tech Source Canada (on Gerrard, west of Jones, North side) sold me a $15 webcam that's my FaceTime cam now.  USB cams with software can have motion detection as well.  Not sure about IR, but it is…"

"I had my car broken into last year and I brought a security camera system from Costco that records.  They now sell a motion light that records onto an SD card right in the light, (only 80$ and easy to setup).  I recommend this because…"

"I see the bait car being much more effective.  You catch the people that are doing the crimes, instead of hiring people to walk around to try to prevent people that will eventually do the crimes.  It's not like the City can hire an…"
