A Mommy in Leslieville. an intro

As I type, my two-month-old son is snuggled up against me, sleeping. Definitely makes for interesting typing, but one of the skills I've developed over the past couple of months is managing to keep a firm hold on him while I type. Impressive, I know.

Since the weather has been less than ideal, Brendan and I haven't had the chance to venture out into the neighbourhood very often. When we do head out the door, it's usually just for me to hit up Altitude Baking to pick up a coffee and a muffin (or one of their yummy fruit danish). I'm looking forward to the days when leaving the house doesn't mean struggling to finding a path on the sidewalks that have become obstacle courses of snow and ice.

Even though I've lived in Leslieville for a few years, I don't feel like I've fully taken advantage of all the area has to offer. This is something that I hope to rectify, now that I'm going to be at home with my bundle of sweetness until next January.

Over the next weeks and months, I'll be posting my experiences of exploring Leslieville (and beyond) as a new mom, talking about all my favourite places, fun activities that I've discovered, etc.

Last week I got in touch with a local Mummies group and I've already learned the scoop on a handful of activities that I'm itching to try.

For now, though, I should go - Brendan is waking up.

Hey!
I was walking by the Purple Pearl last week and it looked like a group of mothers with their babies inside the store, I wonder if there might be events for mothers there - I don't know maybe lessons on knitting for your newborn??
My little guy just turn 4 months this week. I'm also exploring the hood for kid friendly activities, drop by the store if you want some company for walks I'm always there with Jacob.

See ya!

hey jsM4E2X2 (catchy name, btw). You must try the cinnamon buns at Sweet Bliss. Basically it's the only reason I get up on weekends. Eat that, Mommy!

Hey L'ville Mommy...If hitting up Altitude I would recommend the AppleCinn scone...I believe available on Saturdays...could very well be the best scone west of Cornwall UK

Would Pregnant women qualify as a Leslieville Mummy?

Hi! I also have a wee one - almost six months old now! We have been busy exploring the wonders of Leslieville too - it's amazing how much you learn about a neighbourhood when you go for a two hour walk every day ;-) Do we have a Leslieville Mummies group that is open to all? Could be fun to set up a weekly meet at coffee shop and a great way to meet new moms and babies. Can't wait to hear about the activities on your list!

I'm expecting my second child on early July and can't wait to be home with him/her in Leslieville. When our first was born we were up in Riverdale.

this is a touching story of a mom in motion.
