
Thanks to all who have followed Seven Seeds (YOGA!) over to Chang'e studio on Queen Street. We have been welcomed by the Chang'e community with open arms , warm tea and kind words. We are ever so grateful to Sandra and Leanne for bringing us into their fold.
Aaaah...Fall. Rusty ,ruby, amber leaves, cerulean skies, cool winds.
As we deepen into the fall season and begin to hunker into our cozy little abodes. the arrival of autumn can also mean it's time to stock up on Kleenex and cough drops. Along with seasonal allergies, autumn means colder weather that can bring with it colds and flu.
Yoga can help by strengthening and balancing your basic weapon against seasonal conditions -- the immune system. Yoga postures, breath work, relaxation and meditation are powerful tools for helping to stimulate or calm the immune response depending on the situation.
As well, a regular yoga practice or exercise program practice is imperative if you suffer from the symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
If you tend to have a very hectic lifestyle , the best practice for de-stressing and bringing the body back into balance is a Restorative or YIN yoga practice. As urban dwellers we tend to live a very YANG (active) life. Nature is slowing down and asking us to do the same.
Both Restorative and Yin yoga can be practiced by almost anyone...ages/genders/body types. The majority of poses are supported or seated poses and modifications are always offered.
Seven Seeds Yoga @ Chang'e Studio has 2 regular weekly offerings of Restorative yoga:
( Friday's @ 6pm/ Sunday's @ 4:30pm) and 2 YIN yoga classes(Thursday @ 4:30pm/Saturday 12:15pm)

Chang'e Studio continues to offer Pilates, Chinese Medicine, Massage- all of which supplement and help maintain your immune system "bank".
