Does anyone know what's happening with Cream? There's a sign in the door saying "Closed until further notice....". I hope they're not closing already.

I'm with Nancy on this point, it's too bad that they didn't have some other products of the dairy nature. Fresh butter, yogurt etc. Because ice cream just won't do it, if Ed's is just up the street.

This is too bad -- I really liked their gelato -- much better than the stuff at Ed's (which tended to be too icy and tasted old). Apparently I should have eaten more of Cream's gelato...

When they opened I loved their ice cream but I was disappointed that they billed themselves as a dairy but the only dairy product they carried was ice cream. I was hoping for yogurts, creams, butter, etc. I wondered how they'd survive the winter only selling ice cream. I hope they had a plan and they're just taking time to roll it out.

I'm sorry to see any business falter, but also want to point out that there are good ice cream places in the hood. The FIlm Buff's ice creams are not recherché, but are fresh and half the price. If you're buying cones for a family, that matters.

And of course, Greg's. If you go city wide, competition is intense, and summer's over.

Their twitter and FB updates sounded awfully tired in the week or two before they closed. They unexpectedly took a couple of days off that stretched into a week, then were open, and then this lengthy closure. They didn't even bring their chairs in from the patio. Unless they're using them to hash over their plans. NOW named them theirs best ice cream in the city. But they never mentioned it in their posts or signage. I don't know that they ever advertised other than through those social media outlets which let's face it only reach a limited audience.

According to their facebook:

Cream The Urban Dairy CLOSURE: We apologize for the back and forth, but we will be closed for an extended period this fall. We appreciate your support and will keep you updated as word comes in on late fall plans...

So I don't think we will hear anything until late fall. Though it doesn't sound like they are closing. Hope all is well, I really enjoyed that place!!

That would be wa shame if it were the case, especially with all of the accolades they've been receiving since they opened.
