My guess is that we have to get the request to the head of IT.

Yeah, feeds would be great. However, I find the data coming out of TPS to be relatively uncategorized and difficult to parse even in its rudimentary 'news release' format. There is a lot of 'public service' news (noise), a distribution list for each division (ours is 55 Division) which covers some of what's relevant to us, but then also a lot of other relevant warnings like this one that are broadcast to the main 'everything' list. So crafting a feed that had a decent signal-to-noise ratio may be really tough without better tagging as part of the system.

www.spotcrime.com gets some kind of feed from TPS, however, they aren't warnings... they are the crimes themselves.

Nolin you seem to have an interest in posting these warnings. I think it's good. I asked for TPS to publish their notices in a machine readable format, like XML or JSON, but they never returned any emails, nothing. PDFs and text are useless. Otherwise we could automate so much with items like this.

In fact, I'll tweet the Mayor, give him this page. Hopefully he will read it and see the value in what has been added to dataTO.org.
