Need Venue For Sick Kids Fundraiser

Hi everyone,

I am trying to raise funds for Sick Kids and would like to hold a fundraiser day in the hood. I was planning on holding one in the fall as well. Is there anyone who would be willing to let me use their retail space or does anyone have any suggestions as to where it can be held? Once I have a location I will quickly be asking merchants for merchadise donations in order to hold a raffle on the chosen day. As well there will be face painting, a bake sale and whatever else I can think of.

I would like to hold the fundraiser at the end of August. My goal is $10,000 and I have just under $200 so far:( But you've got to start somewhere right?!

So fellow Leslievillers, if you have any suggestions or space let me know!

Thanks,
Sarah

Hi Lori,
I am on Minto. Are they the dogs on Sears that bark at the window?:) I used to walk through there before the path between the two streets was blocked. I have a chocolate lab, Marley, who often got barked at by the two dogs in the window:) We are having the fundraiser at Cream, The Urban Dairy on August 8th. We might need help on the actual day, I'll keep up updated. If you can spread the word about the event that would be great too. So far we are planning a bake sale and a raffle. Cream is also having an event running at the same time so it should be fun!

Hi Victoria,
Are you on Sears or Minto? Let me know if I can be of any help with the fundraiser... you may know my dogs! They are a bit noisey and some times like to take off down the alley. Lola and Otis, you might even hear me yelling after them!

Lori,
I am helping my mum with the fundraiser and we both live on the same street as you! I've seen you on the site a lot but didn't know you were on our street!!

you might want to try Colin at Provincial Fine Foods - they just opened on Eastern ... new to the 'hood. They make artisan cheese and have the space for events. My alley backs on to the back of his building so I only know to get ahold of him by knocking on the back door. I would love to help if I can.

Hi Sarah,
Always up for an event. Email me and I'll send you my cell number; ice cream sandwiches, "sundae"-making for the kids and innumerable creative ideas I and my staff have for baking and event prep...also, outdoor space that can be covered if nothing else works out! How much space do you think you will need, when are you thinking about doing this? My gallery is at 1318 Queen St East. If you have time drop by and we can chat about this. I am open this week on Thursday & Friday 12 - 7 and Saturday 10 - 5. The gallery will be closed from July 26 to August 5th. You can call me at 647.435.7367. My gallery email is down, however, you can also reach me at brayhama@hotmail.com.
