On Friday, February 26, 2010, prior to midnight, police responded to a robbery call in the Queen Street East/Morse Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- a man was walking on Queen Street East when he was approached by three boys,
- one of the boys asked the victim for a cigarette,
- the three boys refused to let the victim continue walking unless the victim handed over money,
- the victim was assaulted by one of the suspects.
It is further alleged that:
- while police were speaking with the victim, a second man approached police to report a robbery,
- that man was robbed of cash.
A 13-year-old boy has been charged with:
1) two counts of Robbery,
2) Possession Property Obtained by Crime,
3) Fail to Comply Recognizance.
A 14-year-old boy and the 15-year-old boy are each charged with:
1) two counts of Robbery,
2) Possession Property obtained by crime.
The names of the accused cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
They were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 9 a.m., room 101.
Police believe there may be more victims and witnesses.
