SO WHAT'S HAPPENING AT PAPE AND QUEEN STREET

so yet another eyesore to contend with. the builder is obviously running into some issues and that is either he can't figure out how to build that condo at the corner and or has decided that the elevator shaft is a distinct enough site for our neighborhoud.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on there, before i go counsellor Fletcher and try to get some answers.

On another note here are some great finds....

Te Aro Coffee shop ....wonderful little spot. Love that atmosphere

Fioribunda Flowers another great little addition to Leslieville . Nothing like fresh flowers

Hanoi 3 is also a great restaurant....wonderful food, and great prices that's for sure

A little out of the Leslieville area but still along the Queen street track is Pop Bistro. I frequent this place rather regularly and the two owners are charming, serve up great food and have a great summer patio in the back...memories of being in Europe to some degree.....go and try them out.

And for all the places along Queen, we need to keep supporting them all. Never mind shopping outside this neighborhoud...there really isn't a need.

LESLIEVILLE IS THE BEST....

Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened to the infamous "stump" at Bay and Adelaide, which, only 15 years later, has become the just-opened Bay Adelaide centre. The commercial real estate market blew up and the stump just stayed there until turned around and the project was re-started last year. Hopefully that won't be the case here.....

Yes, I agree. I'm sure there is legislation about this stuff. I mean, you can't just leave an ugly construction item up like that while you figure out financing, right?

I was wondering the same thing. I suspect the answer is that the builder has run into some financing problems and is having difficulty finishing the project. I agree that silly elevator shaft is an eyesore. Note to the builder: either finish your condo or get rid of that stump!

Maybe it's a union building, built by union people, for union people? Then it's right on schedule.

Thanks for the post, Andre! You would be welcome to share your little restaurant reviews in the Discussions any time. :)

As for the construction site at Queen and Pape, I noticed a couple weeks ago that it was full of water. I can't think that would do any good to the concrete footings that were soaking in it. Glad I didn't buy there.
