TO THE LADY WALKING HER TWO DOGS ON BRUCE PUBLIC SCHOOL PROPERTY

I'd really like to let this go, but it just really bothers me. Why did you feel the need to walk your two dogs in the Bruce Public School play yard? There are clearly marked signs that indicate "No Dogs Allowed!". In fact, I was tempted to take your picture with your two dogs, shitting in the playground, with that particular sign in the foreground. I wish I was that confrontational.

For all I know, you may have picked up after your dogs (and also that cigarette butt you threw on the ground) but really, did you clean the poo-stained grass and clean up the pee?? Kids play there you know! I know you are a dog owner, and you may not know this about children, but they like to touch the grass and they also like to put their fingers in their mouths.

Many of you may know me from previous germophobe posts...and really, with all the crime being committed in our neighborhood, I guess we have bigger problems...but I think we could all do with a little more courtesy and respect for our neighborhood.

And while I'm at it, the rest of you dog owners, who keeps letting their dog shit all over our sidewalks and never cleans it up?! I have a dog, and I would never dream of leaving her poo all over the city for everyone to step in and track into public buildings (like the library where children sit on the floor, for example) or into their homes. Do you know how difficult it can be to get poo off your shoe or stroller wheel???

CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS AND KEEP THEM OUT OF THE SCHOOL PLAY YARDS, or at least don't let them shit in there!

True about the other animals, and really, I'm sure they account for some of the fecal matter in the parks, I think it's pretty rare that a raccoon or squirrel decides to take a dump on a city sidewalk for everyone to step in.

And I agree, irresponsible dog ownership is the reason a lot of restrictions are placed on our pets. When it comes to my own dog, who stays, heels and obeys a number of essential commands, I hate that I can't have her offleash in open parks etc. But when I see how a lot of other dogs behave, I'm glad.

It's people like that that are making the places that dogs ARE allowed fewer and far between.

Though I have to say, the outdoors are never free from, well, pee! I don't think anyone cleans up after the birds, raccoons and squirrels so kids playing in the grass are always going to have dirty hands. Regardless, people should be cleaning up after their dogs and keeping them out of places they aren't allowed before someone tells us to keep them out of the city all together.

I say take a picture. Then post here. Nothing wrong with that.
