Why put your young child in a Creative Movement class?

Creative Movement is unique to all other physical activities because it uses nonfuntional movement to invite each child to explore their own personal expressions. Nonfunctional simply means moving for the sake of moving, as opposed to kicking a ball, reaching for something, etc.

Through dance play, children discover new aspects of their bodies, minds, language, thoughts, and imagination while also becoming aware of elements of dance including rhythm, tempo, space, direction, size, levels and qualities of movement.

Research has shown that creative movement and music explorations do wonders to enhance early learning, and one look at the students engaged faces and joyful dancing is evidence of this.

Benefits of early dance education:
- increases body awareness and ease with oneself
- introduces spacial concepts, as well as aspects of mathematics and language
- increases musicality, auditory skills and coordination
- emotional and social development
- builds self confidence and awareness of individuality
- instills an early creative spark and love of physical activity

Since opening our doors in September, I've been spreading the word to Leslieville moms and dads about how educational and fun these classes are for children aged 3-7. Come and try for yourself! Your child can take a free sample class at any time, and some spaces are available for our 10-week winter session. Visit our website to see a slideshow of our Fall classes and learn more.

Gift Bags Available for the Holidays:
Register before December 19th and receive a gift bag for your young dancer including dance themed colouring sheets, stickers and balloons. You add the tutu and voila!
