Hey there L - villers,

Today we have some suggestions on how to help keep your beautiful tresses (no matter what length) moisturized and healthy.

We all know that with the cold weather brings dry skin. well the same happens to your hair. So to give your hair that extra kick it needs to be all it can be in the snowy season try some of these tips:

1. once or twice a month give your hair a at home Avacado or better yet coconut oil treatment. The best way to do this is to wet your hair with warm water and towel dry. apply the avacodo or coconut oil and then wrap it with a hot towel. the heat will help open and keep the cuticle open for maximun penetration.

you can leave it in for any where from 10 minutes to 2 hours. After just rinse and let dry.Don't shampoo all that goodness out of your hair. These products will help close your cuticle which protects the hair from the environment. Because of this you may want to do this at night.

2. Try not to wash your hair too much in the winter. Washing your hair cleanses it but it also strips your hair of sebum(an oil our bodies naturally produce to secrete and lubricate our hair). The more we wash, the more sebum we wash away, the drier our hair can become.

3. Finally, make sure you are buying a PROFESSIONAL shampoo and conditioner . Most salon bought products will have a Ph level of 4.5 - 5 on the Ph scale which is condusive to your bodys Ph. Some people say anything will do. Professional grade products however have more ingredients in them that you need. A drug store bought hair product has more detergents and fillers that make the product suds more and go further(which is more money in the manufacturers pocket in the long run) Also Professional bought hair products are usually purchased at salons that only sell hair products and specialize in them.

Cheers...

Hey everyone we had a great question asked to us by one of our Leslievillers here on this blog.

The question is Basically asking the best product to use when moisturizing your scalp. here's our answer.

Just like washing your face you should have a regimen for your scalp as well. Especially if you are a little bit challenged with hair growth up there.
1. shampoo: I've acutally hear that some people don't shampoo when they don't have hair. It's still important to shampoo and keep the scalp clean. 2 or 3 times a week is good enough though, you don't want to over do it and dry out your scalp. Shampoo with a moisturizing product that has a Ph level of 4.5-5 (which is what our skin lies at on the Ph scale). At FUSS we have a great product line from Italy called DAVINES . It's wonderful and they are very enviromentally aware. The shampoo I would recommend for this that we carry is called MOMO and it's great.

2. EXFOLIATE! do this once a week. It removes dead skin and replenishes the look and feel of your scalp( it also feels really, really nice). A nice natural way of doing this is by using OATMEAL or ALMONDS ground up.rub it on with a touch of water and it will do the trick. If you prefer to you prefer to use something store bought then just ask the clerk for a face exfoliator . it will do the trick.

3. Finally MOISTURIZE. after washing, exfoliating and towe drying (pat your head to dry...don't rub ouch!!!) You can use a regular facial moisturizer for this. In the winter I would recommend a heavier face creme. In the summer something with a SPF of 30 or higher. Again if looking for a nice and natural way to moisturize then use SHEA or COACOA BUTTER. these products are great. you can find them at any health store.

NOTE: as a little treat a good head massage by someone you love is a great way to relax and promote blood flow to the head area. enjoy.

any suggestions for those of us with more scalp to worry about than hair? can facial or body moisturizers be used on the scalp, should I be using a certain type of conditioner, or are there more suitable ways to keep my head moisturized and smooth?
