This same group was on our street a few weeks ago. Lets just say they didn't stay long!

The Globe & Mail has posted an article about the incident.

Ok, that is the wrong number. I just found the correct one and left a message: 416-469-8069. Basically, I just said that if they want to evangelize they should put out flyers inviting people to attend their church. That way, people can choose for themselves to hear it rather than being subjected to it against their will.

I was just about to post about this. Here's the Torontoist article on the subject: http://torontoist.com/2010/08/let_us_prey.php

I haven't had any luck finding the phone number of the church; I would like to call them and complain. Even if they weren't specifically targeting gays they should be keeping their religious fervor to themselves.

I still think there needs to be some clarification about what happened. There's no point in getting opinions if we don't know what happened. If they were just doing their thumping along the street, that's one thing. If they were in protest, then that's a whole different story. I think it would be really foolish to do anything without knowing what happened to begin with. This video doesn't show anything other than a debate about speech. Let's get the real story first.

Again, just because they're baptists doesn't mean they're hateful. Frankly, seeing people gathering together all dressed up is kinda nice. Even if I think that Christianity is a crock, the last thing I'd do is tell people to leave using the vitriol that the people in the video used. Frankly I don't appreciate the jerks behind me using their power tools on the weekend, but that too is part of living in a city full of amateur carpenters.
